Meerut, October 9, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

A woman has been taken into custody in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut after allegedly mixing a sedative into her husband’s coffee and attacking his private parts with a knife following a domestic dispute, police said.

The incident took place on October 8 in the Zaid Garden area under the Lisadi Gate police station limits. The injured man was taken to hospital by family members, where doctors operated to control the bleeding. Medical teams are also attempting to repair the injured area.

According to the complaint, the woman suspected her husband of having an extramarital relationship and allegedly feared that he intended to marry another woman. The couple has no children.

The man alleged that following an argument, his wife mixed a sedative into his coffee. After he lost consciousness, she allegedly attacked him with a knife, leaving him seriously injured.

His cries alerted his mother and sister, who rushed to the spot. The woman had allegedly left the house by the time they arrived. The family subsequently took him to hospital for treatment.

Circle Officer Kotwali Sangram Singh said the incident was reported from Zaid Garden and that the alleged attack was linked to the woman’s suspicion of her husband’s relationship with another woman.

Police have registered a case on the basis of the man’s written complaint and taken the accused woman into custody for questioning. Officers said the circumstances surrounding the incident were being investigated and further action would follow the findings.
