New Delhi, October 9, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
BJP president Nitin Nabin on Friday held a meeting with the party’s national general secretaries at its headquarters in New Delhi to discuss organisational matters and outline future action plans as the party steps up preparations for upcoming Assembly elections.
Sharing details of the meeting on X, Nabin said the discussions focused on organisational issues and the party’s forthcoming plans.
“Today, at the BJP headquarters, I held a meeting with the National General Secretaries and had a detailed discussion on various organisational matters and upcoming action plans,” he said.
The meeting came as the BJP celebrated its victories in the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election in Assam and the Nandigram and Rejinagar Assembly by-elections in West Bengal.
Nabin Targets Congress, INDIA Bloc Over EC Protest
The organisational meeting followed Nabin’s criticism on Thursday of the Congress and its INDIA bloc allies over their protest against the Election Commission in New Delhi.
The BJP president alleged that the Opposition’s demonstrations were timed to coincide with elections to gain political and electoral advantage. He accused the Opposition of making what he described as unfounded allegations of vote theft against the poll body.
Taking aim at Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and other INDIA bloc leaders, Nabin accused them of having an “anarchist mindset” and alleged that their actions were aimed at creating social divisions.
He also questioned the Opposition’s criticism of the Election Commission, pointing out that the same institution had conducted elections in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, where Opposition parties were in power.
“If their allegations were true, it was this very Election Commission that conducted the elections in Kerala. In Tamil Nadu, where they (Opposition INDIA bloc) came into power through the backdoor, the elections were also conducted by this very Election Commission,” Nabin said.
He claimed that the public was watching the Opposition’s actions and challenged Gandhi to resign if he had the courage to do so.
BJP Says It Remains in Election Mode
Nabin also maintained that the BJP and its workers continued to function in a constant state of organisational preparedness, with fresh responsibilities emerging every day.
He cited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to public welfare as the principal inspiration behind the party’s approach.
The meeting with national general secretaries comes amid the BJP’s efforts to coordinate its organisational activities and formulate strategies for the forthcoming electoral contests.
