New Delhi, October 10, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Security arrangements have been strengthened outside Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s residence in Delhi ahead of a proposed protest by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Saturday, with additional Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel deployed to prevent any untoward incident.

Local police remain on high alert as security has been reinforced across the national capital. Authorities have also stepped up checks at Delhi’s entry points, including Chilla Border, which connects Noida with Mayur Vihar.

Delhi Police, additional security personnel, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and traffic police have been deployed at border locations, where vehicles are being inspected as part of the security measures.

At Tikri Border, the situation remained normal on Saturday morning, with vehicles moving smoothly and no traffic congestion reported. Police and paramilitary personnel continued arriving to strengthen security, while agencies monitored incoming and outgoing vehicles. Public movement was reported to be continuing as usual.

The heightened security follows Delhi Police’s announcement of traffic diversions for Saturday in view of the anticipated law-and-order situation linked to the CJP protest. Commuters travelling through New Delhi and Central Delhi towards railway stations, interstate bus terminals (ISBTs) and the airport have been advised to allow extra time for their journeys.

The diversions came into effect from 6 a.m., depending on ground conditions, at several key intersections. These included the Outer Circle of Connaught Place at Barakhamba Road T-Point, Gol Dak Khana roundabout, Patel Chowk roundabout, the Jai Singh Road-Ashoka Road T-Point, the RML Hospital roundabout and the Outer Circle of Connaught Place at Sansad Marg T-Point.

Delhi Traffic Police has advised commuters to avoid non-essential travel. It said traffic arrangements would be adjusted according to real-time assessments of the situation.

Commuters have been urged to follow official Delhi Traffic Police website and social media updates for information on diversions, alternative routes and traffic alerts.
