The Punjab Ex-Servicemen Corporation (PESCO) provided employment to more than 5,000 personnel over the past year, Defence Services Welfare, Freedom Fighters and Horticulture Minister Mohinder Bhagat said on the occasion of the corporation’s 48th Raising Day, being observed on October 10.
Extending greetings and best wishes to PESCO employees and members, the Cabinet Minister commended the corporation’s leadership and staff for their dedicated service to the state.
Bhagat congratulated PESCO Chairman Maj. (Dr.) Gurcharan Singh, Principal Secretary, Defence Services Welfare, Sumer Singh Gurjar, Managing Director Maj. Gen. Harmandeep Singh (Retd.) and all employees for their contribution to the corporation’s work.
The minister said PESCO had made significant progress under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, particularly in generating employment opportunities over the past year.
He expressed hope that the corporation would continue to achieve success and prosperity in the coming year. Bhagat also reiterated the Punjab Government’s commitment to strengthening PESCO and expanding employment opportunities, welfare support and dignity for ex-servicemen and their families.
The corporation plays a role in supporting the welfare and rehabilitation of ex-servicemen through employment-related initiatives. The minister’s remarks highlighted the state government’s emphasis on improving livelihood opportunities for former military personnel and their families.
As PESCO marks its 48th Raising Day, the government has reaffirmed its commitment to the corporation’s continued development and its efforts to support the ex-servicemen community.
