Actress and dancer Jenna Dewan became emotional as she realised that her children would get to watch her perform live for the first time on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ (DWTS).
Dewan shared a video on Instagram in which her daughter is seen pointing at a T-shirt featuring the actress’ picture. Reflecting on the moment, Dewan said she was “so emotional and grateful” that her children would be able to see her dance on the show.
The video carried the text: “That feeling when you realize your kids get to watch you dance live for the first ever time on DWTS.”
Sharing the clip, Dewan wrote that she cried upon receiving it and expressed her happiness at her children getting to watch her perform live for the first time. She also urged viewers to vote for her.
Dewan is returning to her dance roots as a contestant on Season 35 of ‘Dancing with the Stars’. She and professional dance partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy made their ballroom debut together during the second night of the show’s premiere.
Dewan began her career as a backup dancer for Janet Jackson before working with artists including Christina Aguilera, Pink and Missy Elliott. She gained wider recognition for playing Nora Clark in the 2006 dance film ‘Step Up’.
Her television credits include ‘The Playboy Club’, ‘American Horror Story: Asylum’, ‘Witches of East End’, ‘Supergirl’, ‘Superman & Lois’ and ‘Soundtrack’. She has also hosted ‘World of Dance’ and ‘Flirty Dancing’ and served as a judge on ‘Come Dance with Me’.
Dewan was last seen in the 2019 romantic comedy ‘The Wedding Year’, directed by Robert Luketic and starring Sarah Hyland, Tyler James Williams, Matt Shively and Anna Camp alongside her.
