Punjab Prisons Department warder Prabhjot Singh has won a gold medal at the National Senior Kickboxing Championship held in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, adding a national-level sporting achievement to the department’s record.
The championship began on September 8, 2026, where Prabhjot Singh delivered a strong performance to secure the gold medal and bring recognition to Punjab and the Prisons Department.
Punjab Jail Training School, Patiala, Principal Varun Sharma congratulated the warder on his achievement and said Singh underwent rigorous training at the school under the guidance and supervision of department instructor Balbir Singh.
Sharma said Prabhjot Singh’s success could encourage other employees of the department to pursue sporting activities and excel at competitive levels.
Congratulating Singh and his coach Balbir Singh, Sharma said the department was proud of employees who continued to achieve recognition in sports while performing their official duties.
He expressed hope that Singh would go on to represent the country and Punjab at the international level and bring further laurels to the state and the department.
Vice Principal Mukesh Sharma was also present on the occasion.
