Chief ministers across several states on Thursday extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he turned 76, with their messages highlighting his 25 years in public life and his focus on governance, development, public welfare and nation-building.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said Modi had brought a new sense of transformation to people’s lives by making public service his guiding principle, good governance his resolve and nation-building his central objective.
Yogi also announced the launch of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from Varanasi on the Prime Minister’s birthday. In Lucknow, events linked to the ‘Vishwakarma Self-Employment and Swadeshi Mela 2026’ under the ‘Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana 2.0’ are also scheduled, including the launch of an exhibition and margin money loan portal and distribution of cheques and toolkits to beneficiaries.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the national capital had received Modi’s “affection and guidance” and was moving ahead with new facilities and opportunities. She said the city’s development agenda placed its residents, including women, youth, labourers, senior citizens and children, at its centre.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami praised Modi’s focus on the welfare of youth, farmers and the poor, as well as his role in enhancing India’s standing globally.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel recalled Modi’s journey from Vadnagar to the Prime Minister’s Office and described his 25 years as an elected public representative as a period marked by governance, welfare and development. Patel also highlighted the government’s emphasis on cultural heritage, digital development, infrastructure and defence self-reliance.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said Modi’s commitment to public service was giving a new direction to national development. He referred to “GYAN” as a foundation of national strength and said the vision of a developed India had become a national aspiration.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also recalled Modi’s public life in Gujarat and at the national level, highlighting welfare, social justice, infrastructure development and national security. Sarma said Modi had placed particular emphasis on Assam’s development since 2014.
West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari also extended birthday greetings, describing Modi’s leadership and commitment to nation-building as an inspiration. He wished the Prime Minister good health, long life and continued strength.
Current reports confirm Suvendu Adhikari is serving as West Bengal Chief Minister following the 2026 Assembly elections.
