Retd IAS Officers Calls For Natural Resource Conservation

Ludhiana, Feb 24, 2025 (Yes Punjab News)

A five-day training course on “Regenerative Agriculture” concluded at the Skill Development Centre of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). Organized in collaboration with Round Glass Foundation, a total of 25 trainees participated in the training course.

In his address, Mr KS Pannu, a retired IAS officer and alumnus of PAU, underlined the need for saving the precious natural resources by giving up traditional wheat-paddy cycle.

It was vital to encourage the small, medium and big farmers to make judicious use of essential resources, especially, water which at present was dipping and dipping due to its excessive use, he observed. Further, he called for seeking the help of Round Glass Foundation in overcoming the agricultural challenges for the preservation of air, soil and water.

Dr Rupinder Kaur, Assistant Director (Skill Development), welcomed the dignitary as well as the trainees, and shed light on the objectives of the skill trainings being imparted by the PAU to the farmers, women and the youths for their fiscal benefits and livelihood improvement.

Dr Lavleesh Garg, Course Coordinator, informed that the experts focused on natural resource conservation, soil health management, vegetable cultivation, bioenzymes, sugarcane cultivation, organic farming, etc.

Dr Kulvir Kaur, Coordinator of the course, proposed a vote of thanks. Present on the occasion were Mrs Rupinder Kaur, Mrs Kuldeep kaur, Mrs Kanwaljit Kaur and Mr Ravneet Singh from Round Glass Foundation.
