Turin, September 16, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz has qualified for the 2026 ATP Finals for the fifth consecutive season, joining World No. 1 Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev in securing places at the season-ending tournament in Turin.

Zverev, the Roland Garros and US Open champion this season, and Wimbledon winner Sinner secured their berths through their Grand Slam triumphs and their position at the top of the ATP rankings.

Alcaraz’s qualification became certain following the conclusion of the US Open, with the Spaniard guaranteed to finish among the top 20 of the ATP Live Race To Turin. The 23-year-old has enjoyed another strong season, highlighted by his Australian Open triumph at Melbourne Park, where he completed his Career Grand Slam.

The 26-time tour-level champion has compiled a 26-4 win-loss record this season. Besides his success at the Australian Open, Alcaraz also won the title in Doha and reached the final of the Monte-Carlo Masters 1000 event.

Alcaraz recently returned from a wrist injury and reached the US Open quarter-finals, where eventual finalist Ben Shelton edged him in a final-set tie-break.

The Spaniard has a 7-5 record at the Nitto ATP Finals. He reached the championship match for the first time last season before losing to Sinner.

Shelton currently occupies third place in the Race to Turin. Flavio Cobolli, Frances Tiafoe, Arthur Fils, Daniil Medvedev, Rafael Jodar and Taylor Fritz are also among the leading contenders in the race for qualification.

The 2026 ATP Finals will again be held at the Inalpi Arena in Turin from November 15 to 22.
