AICWA Pays Tribute to Late Actress Ananya Raj, Calls Her Death a Loss for Entire Film Fraternity

The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has mourned the death of actress Ananya Raj, who passed away on July 15 at the age of 27 after reportedly battling physical and mental health challenges for more than a year.

The actress’s family made the news of her death public nearly a month after her passing. According to the family, Ananya had been facing health issues for the past year and had endured significant physical and emotional difficulties. She died peacefully in her sleep, they said.

In a statement shared on X, the AICWA expressed deep grief over the actress’s untimely death and extended condolences to her family and loved ones.

The association said Ananya was part of several Bollywood films, including 7 Hours to Go (2016), The Final Exit (2017) and Ghost (2019).

Describing her death as a shock to the Indian film industry, the AICWA said the loss of a young artist was not only a personal tragedy for her family but also a loss for the wider film fraternity.

The association said Ananya would be remembered for her work, presence and contribution to the industry, adding that her memories would continue to remain part of Indian cinema.

The AICWA also prayed for peace for the departed soul and strength for Ananya’s family to cope with the loss.

The actress’s family remembered her as a strong-spirited person who lived life with confidence despite the challenges she faced.
