Punjab Police conducted 571 raids across the state on Sunday as part of its ongoing ‘Gangstran Te Vaar’ campaign against gangster networks, arresting 307 individuals and taking preventive action against 235 others.
The statewide operation, which entered its 208th day, was carried out at identified and mapped locations linked to associates of gangsters. Police teams from all districts coordinated with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab for the special operations.
According to the police, the 307 individuals arrested during the day were found in possession of one weapon. With these arrests, the total number of people arrested since the campaign was launched has reached 61,346.
Police also arrested two Proclaimed Offenders (POs) during the Day 208 operation.
The ‘Gangstran Te Vaar’ campaign was launched by Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav on January 20, 2026, with the stated objective of making Punjab a gangster-free state. Since its launch, district police units and the AGTF have been conducting coordinated operations against gangster associates and criminal networks across the state.
Punjab Police has also appealed to the public to share information about wanted criminals, gangsters and other criminal activities. Information can be provided anonymously through the Anti-Gangster Helpline at 93946-93946.
The police said members of the public can use the helpline to provide tips related to crime and criminal activity without disclosing their identity.
