The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Sunday released the provisional answer key for the UGC NET June 2026 examination, giving candidates an opportunity to check their recorded responses and challenge answers they believe are incorrect.
Candidates who appeared for the examination can access the provisional answer key, question papers and recorded response sheets through the official UGC NET website.
The objection window will remain open until August 18, and candidates challenging an answer will have to pay a processing fee of Rs 200 per question.
The NTA has uploaded provisional answer keys for 84 subjects. However, the keys for English, Commerce and Sociology will be issued separately.
According to the NTA, a committee was constituted to examine complaints concerning various errors in the question papers of the three subjects. The agency said a separate public notice regarding them would be issued later.
To check the answer key, candidates need to visit the UGC NET website and select the link for the UGC NET June 2026 Answer Key. They must then log in using their application number and password or date of birth, as applicable.
After logging in, candidates can view their provisional answer key, recorded response sheet and question paper. They can compare the answers they marked with those provided in the provisional key and calculate their probable scores.
Candidates who find an incorrect answer or any discrepancy can submit challenges through the designated online process before the August 18 deadline. The prescribed Rs 200 fee will apply to each challenged question.
The NTA will examine the objections received within the stipulated period before preparing the final answer key. Candidates are advised to retain copies of their answer key, recorded responses and question paper for future reference and score estimation.
