Actor-dancer Zaid Darbar has opened up about his experience of collaborating with his father, veteran composer Ismail Darbar, on the song Uss Khuda Se, calling the professional association a memory he will always cherish.
Zaid has directed the track, while Ismail has composed the music, bringing the father-son duo together for the musical project.
“There are some projects that become a part of your heart even before they reach the audience, and ‘Uss Khuda Se’ is exactly that for me. Working with my father on this song is something I’ll always cherish,” Zaid told IANS.
Recalling how music shaped his childhood, Zaid said he grew up watching his father create music and found it particularly meaningful to bring his own creative vision to a composition by him.
“We have put our heart and soul into this one, and I genuinely hope people feel the emotion behind it,” he added.
Ismail Darbar said the collaboration was equally significant for him, as he was working not only with a director but also with his son.
“Watching him bring his perspective and understanding to the song made this experience very memorable for me,” the composer said.
Describing Uss Khuda Se as a return to the kind of music he has always believed in, Ismail said the song was created from an honest and emotional space, with melody and musical purity at its core.
He added that having Zaid direct the track made the project even more personal, as he could see his son interpret the music through his own creative perspective while retaining its emotional essence.
For Ismail, Uss Khuda Se represents more than a musical comeback. He described it as a return to his roots, his distinctive sound and the emotions that have connected him with listeners over the years.
