Senior PCS officer of the 2012 batch, Pooja Syal Grewal, today assumed charge as the Municipal Commissioner of Patiala. Soon after taking over, she held an important meeting with Additional Commissioner Simarpreet Kaur, Joint Commissioner Manreet Rana, and heads of all branches of the Municipal Corporation, directing them to accelerate development works across the city.
She stated that Patiala is not new to her, as she has previously served here as SDM and ADC.
Pooja Syal Grewal said that, in accordance with the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, all ongoing development works and key projects in Patiala will be completed in a time-bound manner. She further emphasized ensuring sewer desilting, proper street lighting, effective waste management, disposal of legacy waste, and making the city a model in terms of cleanliness, while also providing timely services and improved civic amenities to residents.
The Municipal Commissioner stated that with the support of Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli, Mayor Kundan Gogia, and in coordination with the district administration, all development works and pending projects in Patiala city will be completed within stipulated timelines.
Officials and employees of the Municipal Corporation welcomed the new Commissioner on the occasion of her assuming charge.
It is noteworthy that Pooja Syal Grewal has previously served in several key administrative positions, including SDM at Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Dera Bassi; EO, GMADA; RTA Mohali; ADC (Urban Development) Mohali; and ADC in Patiala, Rupnagar, and Fatehgarh Sahib. She possesses extensive administrative experience and is known for taking prompt and firm decisions for the effective resolution of public grievances.
