Mira Rajput has said motherhood brings its own challenges regardless of the age at which a woman embraces it, with Kareena Kapoor agreeing with her during a candid conversation on the actress’s chat show What Women Want.
Mira, who became a mother at 21, was asked by Kareena whether she had ever regretted having children so early, particularly when many of her friends were pursuing college and university life.
Mira said she had no regrets and explained that the experience of raising children can be overwhelming for every mother, irrespective of when she enters that phase of life.
“Motherhood, regardless of what stage it comes to you, has its challenges,” she said, adding that both she and Kareena had experienced the uncertainties and demands of bringing up children despite becoming mothers at different stages.
Agreeing with her observation, Kareena responded, “Exactly.”
Mira also credited her husband, actor Shahid Kapoor, for being a strong support system during her early years as a mother. She said her two sisters, who already had children, were another source of support.
While acknowledging the challenges, Mira said she would not change the way things had unfolded in her life.
During the conversation, she also shared details about the ages at which she welcomed her children. Her daughter Misha was born shortly before Mira’s 22nd birthday, while son Zain arrived two days before her 24th birthday.
Mira recalled that she celebrated her birthday in the hospital around Zain’s birth.
Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput married in July 2015 in an intimate ceremony in Delhi. Their daughter Misha was born on August 26, 2016, and their son Zain on September 5, 2018.
