Bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan delighted fans with a warm exchange on social media as the latter celebrated his 61st birthday, bringing back memories of their much-loved friendship from the 1990s.
Salman took to Instagram Stories on Monday to wish Shah Rukh, sharing the first song from the actor’s upcoming film King alongside a birthday message.
“Happy Birthday Shahrukh hamesha jawaan raho The King, yeh meri dua hai (I wish you stay young forever, The King),” Salman wrote.
Shah Rukh reshared the message and responded with a playful reference to his shirtless physique, crediting Salman for encouraging him to work on his body.
“Aapne kaha Bina shirt ke acchhi body hai sirf isse liye mehnat ki (I did the hard work because you said that the shirtless body looks good). Love u bhai always,” he replied.
The birthday celebrations also saw Shah Rukh greet fans gathered outside his Mumbai residence, Mannat, in Bandra. Wearing a white T-shirt and denim, the actor appeared for his customary birthday greeting and struck his signature arms-outstretched pose.
This year, however, he maintained a greater distance from the crowd than in previous years, reportedly keeping security considerations in mind amid concerns over attacks targeting high-profile personalities.
Shah Rukh also marked the occasion with the release of ‘Tu Mil Jaaye’, a song from King. Sung by Arijit Singh, the track features Shah Rukh and Deepika Padukone and offers a glimpse of the actor’s muscular, shirtless look. It also incorporates a rap section described as reflecting Ed Sheeran’s distinctive style.
