Chandigarh, November 2, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
AAP Punjab spokesperson Neel Garg on Monday hit out at the BJP, asking its leaders to focus on their own political standing in Punjab instead of commenting on AAP. He said public trust, people’s issues and the state’s development remained AAP’s biggest strengths, and the departure of a few legislators would make no difference.
Reacting to BJP leaders’ remarks that AAP’s ‘Jharoo’ was falling apart after three MLAs left the party, Garg said AAP had already distanced itself from these legislators. He pointed out that Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh had been suspended from the party in June 2025, adding that individuals were free to make their own political decisions.
Garg said the BJP must answer questions over farmers’ deaths during the agitation, Chandigarh’s status, Punjab’s water rights and the withholding of the state’s funds. He accused the party of acting against Punjab’s interests and said voters would judge political parties by their record and commitment to the state.
He said people were more concerned about farmers’ welfare, employment for youth, traders’ interests, free healthcare, free electricity and equitable development. Garg claimed that people continued to support Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP because of the government’s work and its focus on public welfare.
Questioning the BJP’s position on Raghav Chadha, Garg asked how the party reconciled his presence with Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh’s earlier allegations that Chadha was involved in facilitating the sale of drugs in Punjab.
He challenged the BJP to clarify its stand on those allegations, reiterating that political defections would not determine AAP’s public support.
