Jindal Global Business School (JGBS) of O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) has entered the QS Global MBA Rankings 2027 in its first-ever appearance, securing a position in the global 171–180 band and breaking into the world’s Top 200 business schools.
JGBS has also been ranked as the No. 1 private university business school in India for its MBA programme, according to the rankings.
The QS Global MBA Rankings 2027 feature 19 MBA providers from India, including five institutions making their debut. JGU is the leading institution among the new entrants, with its MBA programme placed in the 171–180 global band.
The achievement comes in the 16th year of JGBS’s institutional journey. In its debut appearance, the business school has been placed ahead of several established Indian management institutions, including IIM Kozhikode, IIM Indore, IIM Lucknow and IIM Udaipur.
At the Asian level, JGU has secured the 23rd position among 81 MBA programmes and ranked 16th in Asia for employability.
The QS Global MBA Rankings assess programmes across five key dimensions: employability, thought leadership, diversity, value for money and alumni outcomes.
Prof. (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, Founding Vice Chancellor of O.P. Jindal Global University, described the ranking as a historic moment for JGU and credited Chancellor Naveen Jindal’s vision and support for the university’s efforts to build a globally oriented institution.
He also acknowledged the contribution of JGBS faculty, students, alumni and professional teams in developing the school and strengthening its standing in management education.
Prof. Padmanabha Ramanujam, Dean, Academic Governance & Student Life, JGU, said the ranking affirmed the academic standards and institutional systems developed by JGBS and JGU. He highlighted academic governance, continuous benchmarking and adherence to international standards as key areas of focus.
Prof. Mayank Dhaundiyal, Dean, Jindal Global Business School, said the recognition reflected the school’s efforts to combine academic rigour and research with industry engagement, experiential learning and a global outlook.
JGBS has also strengthened its research ecosystem, international collaborations, industry engagement, student experience and opportunities for global learning and academic exchange in recent years.
Another significant milestone has been the school’s AACSB accreditation, reflecting its commitment to internationally recognised standards in business education.
The institution said its growing research impact, global partnerships and graduate outcomes have contributed to building its identity in management and business education in India and internationally.
The university also attributed the achievement to the collective efforts of its faculty members, students, alumni, academic leadership and professional teams. It said faculty research, student achievements, alumni contributions and employer confidence in its graduates have supported the school’s growing reputation.
With its debut in the global Top 200, JGBS said it aims to further strengthen its position in internationally recognised management education and prepare future-ready leaders for an increasingly interconnected world.
JGU said its performance across global and national rankings reflects its focus on academic excellence, research, global engagement and transformative education.
