Paul McCartney recalls urging Taylor Swift to sing with him at her wedding

Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney has revealed that he encouraged Taylor Swift to join him on stage and sing at her wedding to NFL star Travis Kelce.

McCartney, 84, discussed his appearance at the couple’s wedding while appearing on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, confirming that he performed The Beatles’ 1963 classic ‘I Want to Hold Your Hand’ at the celebrations.

According to McCartney, Swift chose the song, and while she was on stage, he suggested that she turn the performance into a duet and sing it to Kelce.

“Yeah, it was. And I said, because she was on stage, I said, ‘You should sing along, and you should sing it to your man’,” McCartney told host Jimmy Kimmel.

Kimmel responded that it seemed like reasonable advice, although McCartney did not reveal whether Swift ultimately joined him for the song.

The wedding reportedly featured several musical performances, with singer Stevie Nicks also taking the stage. Kelce’s brother, Jason Kelce, has previously spoken about the groom’s musical contribution to the celebrations.

During an appearance on the Ross Tucker Football Podcast, Jason recalled hearing his brother sing and praised his ability to carry a tune.

Jason said Kelce has “always been able to carry a tune” and suggested that, had he not known otherwise, he might have assumed singing was something the NFL star did professionally.

He added that Kelce was naturally outshone by some of the other singers who performed at the wedding, but still held his own.

The remarks offer another glimpse into the star-studded celebrations surrounding Swift and Kelce, whose relationship has remained a major focus of attention among fans of both music and American football.
