Director Jason Sanjay, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay, says he is both excited and anxious ahead of the worldwide theatrical release of his directorial debut Sigma on October 2.
In a statement, Jason described the anticipation surrounding the film as immense and said he was confident that the team would deliver an engaging cinematic experience.
“Sigma is releasing worldwide in theatres on October 2, with Sakthi Film Distributors bringing the film to audiences,” he said, adding that the team had chosen a genre and visual colour palette that they believed would connect with contemporary audiences.
Jason expressed gratitude to Lyca Productions chairman Subaskaran for entrusting him with the project and to Tamil Kumaran, head of Lyca Productions, for his support during the film’s production.
He also thanked actors Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah for trusting him and the script, while acknowledging the contributions of veteran artistes including Sampath and Raju Master.
The debutant filmmaker credited cinematographer Krishnan Vasanth and editor Praveen KL with playing key roles in shaping the film. He also praised composer Thaman for adding energy to the project through his music.
Jason said the team had worked with the intention of making Sigma an entertaining film capable of crossing regional and linguistic boundaries and connecting with audiences across territories.
“I believe confidence in a project must always come with humility,” he said, urging audiences to watch the film in theatres from October 2.
Concluding his statement, Jason said: “I am another debutant director stepping into this vast ocean of talent called cinema. At this stage of my journey, the support and acceptance of the audience mean everything to me.”
Sigma, starring Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah, marks Jason Sanjay’s first film as a director and is being produced by Lyca Productions.
