The Delhi Metro Sarthi app has crossed one crore downloads, emerging as a key digital ticketing platform for commuters across the Delhi-NCR region, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said on Thursday.
The app has been opened around 8.2 lakh times every week on weekdays and recorded close to 20 lakh views in Delhi-NCR in a month, according to Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director, Corporate Communications, DMRC.
Dayal said the app aims to make daily commuting more convenient by bringing ticketing, transport information and other essential services together on a single digital platform, reducing the need for commuters to switch between multiple applications.
Sarthi integrates several public transport services, including Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses, train bookings through IRCTC, interstate bus bookings, NCRTC’s Namo Bharat, and NMRC’s Noida Metro. It also offers a virtual Metro card facility.
The app provides commuters with Metro maps, first and last train timings, route guidance, parking details, station facilities, electric vehicle charging points and battery-swapping stations.
Beyond transport-related services, users can access mobile recharges, medicine ordering, FASTag recharges and other utility payment options through the platform.
The DMRC said the initiative is part of its efforts to develop a connected, digital-first and commuter-focused mobility ecosystem while encouraging the use of integrated public transport.
With Delhi-NCR facing significant pollution challenges during winter, the DMRC has also encouraged residents to use the Metro more frequently and access ticketing services through the Sarthi app.
