Bollywood actress Nushrratt Bharuccha has suffered a spinal fracture in an accident in Bali, where she was on a work-cum-holiday trip. She is currently hospitalised and under medical observation, her team said on Friday.
According to a statement issued on behalf of the actress, Nushrratt will undergo spine surgery following further evaluation by doctors. Arrangements are also being made to bring her back to Mumbai by air ambulance, where the surgery will be performed.
“At present, our immediate priority is her health and ensuring she receives the necessary medical care,” her team said, adding that her work commitments over the next few weeks are likely to be affected due to the injury and recovery period.
The team also requested privacy for the actress while she undergoes treatment and recovers, while thanking fans and well-wishers for their concern and support.
Nushrratt began her acting career on television with shows including Kitty Party and Seven before making her film debut with Jai Santoshi Maa. She gained wider recognition with Love Sex Aur Dhokha (2010) and Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011).
She subsequently appeared in films including Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Dream Girl, Chhorii, Janhit Mein Jaari, Ram Setu, Akelli, Ajeeb Daastaans, Chhalaang and Chhorrii 2.
