CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke’s Family Says They Faced Pressure, Threats During Student Movement

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, July 25, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The family of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Saturday said they faced “immense pressure” and received alleged death threats during the nationwide student agitation led by him, while expressing pride over his role in the movement that culminated in the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Speaking to IANS, Abhijeet’s father Bhagwanrao Dipke said he supported his son’s efforts and congratulated him for the success of his first major movement.

“He has my blessings. His first movement has met with success; I congratulate him and hope that he continues to do good work in the future,” he said.

Bhagwanrao also appreciated Pradhan for resigning, saying the minister had acknowledged the need to focus on students and education in his resignation letter.

The CJP founder’s father alleged that the family faced threats through online platforms, including YouTube, during the agitation. He said the pressure and fear forced the family to leave their home temporarily and stay away for nearly 15 to 20 days.

He said Abhijeet led the movement without any personal interest and remained committed to students’ concerns.

Abhijeet’s mother Anita Dipke became emotional after learning about Pradhan’s resignation and recalled the difficulties faced by her son during the protest. She said she was deeply worried after he was allegedly attacked during the movement.

“It is a very good development for the students. The government has listened to their demands. I am happy that Dharmendra Pradhan resigned,” she said.

Anita also criticised the alleged police action during the July 20 ‘Sansad Chalo’ march, questioning the use of force against student protesters.

She said the family remained concerned about Abhijeet’s safety but added that she was proud of his achievement at a young age.

Regarding a possible visit to Delhi, Anita said Abhijeet had asked the family to come only when he invited them, as he feared becoming emotional upon seeing them at the protest site.
