Bhumi Pednekar Says Pradhan’s Resignation Must Lead to ‘Real, Solution-Driven Change’

Mumbai, July 25, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Actor Bhumi Pednekar on Saturday reacted to the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, saying accountability should translate into meaningful reforms and solutions for students.

Sharing a note on Instagram, Pednekar described the development as an important moment for democracy and expressed hope that it would lead to a stronger and fairer India.

“Today is a monumental moment for our democracy. Citizens that didn’t give up and leadership that listened. The youth spoke, their conviction, their courage, and their belief in the power of change was inspiring,” she wrote.

The actor said that while several issues were discussed during the movement, the core concerns raised by students remained central.

Pednekar stressed that accountability should not be limited to accepting responsibility but should result in identifying problems within the education system and implementing lasting solutions.

“To me, accountability is about delivering real, solution-driven change. Identifying the cracks and filling them. True reform, that actually impacts the future discourse of our students,” she said.

She added that national interest, people’s welfare, prosperity and security should remain the priority for both public representatives and citizens.

Pradhan’s resignation came after weeks of student protests over alleged examination irregularities, including the NEET-UG paper leak controversy. The movement gained wider attention following clashes between protesters and police during demonstrations in Delhi.

The protests intensified after climate activist Sonam Wangchuk was removed from the Jantar Mantar protest site following his hunger strike over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations.
