Delhi Metro Reopens All Station Gates After Jantar Mantar Protest Ends

New Delhi, July 25, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Saturday reopened the entry gates of all Metro stations that had been temporarily closed due to security concerns after protesters ended their agitation at Jantar Mantar.

In a post on X, the DMRC announced, “Entry gates of all Metro Stations of the Delhi Metro network are now open.”

Earlier in the day, the Metro operator had also restored services at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat stations following an improvement in the security situation.

The DMRC had temporarily suspended entry and exit at 18 Metro stations across Central Delhi amid heightened security arrangements in view of the protests near Jantar Mantar over the alleged NEET paper leak.

The affected stations included Lok Kalyan Marg, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Barakhambha Road, Supreme Court, Seva Teerth, Janpath, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, ITO, Delhi Gate, Indraprastha, Khan Market, Jor Bagh, Shivaji Stadium, Jhandewalan and New Delhi.

The reopening followed the withdrawal of the protest after discussions between representatives of the agitating group and the Centre.

According to the government, it agreed to withdraw police cases filed against protesting students, provide written confirmation of the FIR withdrawals, and extend compensation to families of students who died in incidents linked to the alleged paper leak controversy.

Following the announcement, protest leaders appealed to demonstrators to end the sit-in and return home, saying the government had accepted their key demands.
