Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) youth leader Hanish Bansal, who served as the party’s Mansa District Youth President, joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday along with his supporters.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Rajbir Ghuman, inducted Bansal into the party and welcomed him by presenting him with a party siropa.
Addressing the gathering, Ghuman said AAP’s policies were aimed at inclusive development and expressed confidence that Bansal’s induction would strengthen the party’s organisational base in Mansa. He also assured the new entrant of due respect and responsibilities within the party.
After joining AAP, Bansal said he had decided to switch allegiance after being impressed by the policies and governance of the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government.
He said he would work to strengthen the party at the grassroots and take its policies and programmes to the people.
Bansal had been associated with the Shiromani Akali Dal for several years and had held various organisational responsibilities before serving as the party’s Mansa District Youth President.
