The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday announced its candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, naming 10 leaders from various states for seats in the Upper House of Parliament.
Among the prominent names is senior BJP leader and National General Secretary Tarun Chugh, who has been nominated from Madhya Pradesh. Another BJP leader, Rajneesh Agrawal, has also been fielded from the state.
The nomination of Tarun Chugh is being viewed as a significant recognition of his growing stature within the party. Hailing from Amritsar in Punjab, Chugh has steadily risen through the BJP ranks and is widely regarded as a trusted member of the party’s national leadership team.

Notably, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu, who had earlier entered the Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan, does not figure in the BJP’s latest list of candidates, triggering political speculation about his future parliamentary prospects.
For Arunachal Pradesh, the BJP has nominated Tai Tagak as its Rajya Sabha candidate.
In Gujarat, the party has announced four candidates — Rajubhai Shukla, Mukeshbhai Rathwa, Mansingh Parmar and Jitendra Meghjibhai Kanzariya.
The BJP has also named A. Sharda Devi as its candidate from Manipur.
From Odisha, the party has chosen Debashish Samantaray as its nominee for the Rajya Sabha.
The announcement comes ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections and reflects the BJP’s strategy of balancing organisational experience, regional representation and political leadership across states.
