In a historic call to action, the Punjab Youth Congress has announced a massive “Lalkar March” on 26 November 2025 at 11:00 AM, opposing the anti-Punjab agenda of the Central BJP Government, including the controversial UT Bill which threatens to dilute Punjab’s administrative rights over Chandigarh, along with protests against vote theft (vote chori) and systemic attacks on democracy.
This movement is being organized under the dynamic leadership of:
Dr. Smurti Ranjan Lenka Ji (Incharge, Punjab Youth Congress)
and
Shri Mohit Mohindra Ji (President, Punjab Youth Congress).
Key Issues Being Opposed
The leadership stated that this march reflects Punjab’s united resistance on critical issues:
The Union Territory (UT) Bill, which aims to undermine Punjab’s constitutional rights and control over Chandigarh, violating the federal structure
Ongoing attempts to weaken Punjab’s stake in Punjab University
Lack of necessary support from the Centre during recent devastating floods in Punjab
Vote manipulation and vote theft, threatening democracy and the future of India
Suppression of voices, youth rights, and institutions
Leadership Statements
Dr. Smurti Ranjan Lenka Ji gave a powerful message to the youth and the nation:
“The UT Bill is an attack on Punjab’s identity and constitutional rights. Chandigarh belongs to Punjab, and we will never allow any law that divides or weakens our authority. This march is our answer to dictatorship and injustice. Punjab will not bend, Punjab will fight.”
He further said:
“This is the time to rise as one voice. When youth stand together, no power can suppress democracy. This Lalkar March is the roar of Punjab demanding justice.”
Shri Mohit Mohindra Ji, President Punjab Youth Congress, strongly condemned the Central Government’s approach:
“By pushing the controversial UT Bill, the Centre has disrespected Punjab’s rights and the sentiments of our people. This is not a political fight — this is a fight for dignity, democracy, and constitutional balance. Punjab will never tolerate vote chori or theft of its rights.”
He added:
“On 26 November, Punjab Youth Congress will show that we are united, fearless, and determined. Our march will shake those who believe they can silence us.”
