India won the silver medal in the men’s 10m air rifle team event at the Asian Games 2026 on Monday, with Himanshu Dhillon, Parth Mane and Rudrankksh Patil combining for a score of 1,890.1 points.
The result took India’s medal tally at the Games to three, with all three medals coming in shooting.
Rudrankksh produced the highest individual score for India in the 60-shot qualification, registering 631.8 points to finish third. Himanshu scored 630.0 to place seventh, while Parth Mane contributed 628.3 points.
China secured the gold medal with a world-record team score of 1,899.0 points, while South Korea won bronze with 1,884.2.
Rudrankksh and Himanshu also advanced to the men’s 10m air rifle individual final after finishing inside the top eight in qualification.
For Rudrankksh, the team silver is his second Asian Games medal in the event. He had won gold in the men’s 10m air rifle team event at the Hangzhou 2023 Asian Games.
India had opened its shooting campaign on Sunday with Elavenil Valarivan winning two silver medals. She finished runner-up in the women’s 10m air rifle individual event after helping India secure silver in the team competition.
The individual silver was Elavenil’s first Asian Games medal in an individual event. She had competed at the Jakarta 2018 Asian Games as a teenager but did not make the final of the women’s 10m air rifle event.
Elavenil holds the Asian record of 253.6, set while winning the Asian Championships in Shymkent last year. She also successfully defended her continental title at the 2026 Asian Championships in New Delhi.
India’s three medals so far at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games are all silver medals and have come from shooting.
At the previous Asian Games in Hangzhou, Indian shooters produced a record haul of 22 medals, including seven gold, nine silver and six bronze.
