Actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas has offered fans a glimpse of her Karwa Chauth celebrations, sharing a photograph of her mehendi design featuring her husband Nick Jonas’ name.
Taking to social media on Thursday, Priyanka posted a picture of her palm adorned with the traditional henna design and captioned it, “Piya ke naam ki.. happy karwachauth to all those celebrating.”
In another social media story, the actor shared a closer look at the mehendi and raised a question about a familiar home remedy used to enhance its colour.
“The question is, will the chashni work? IYKYK,” she wrote.
Chashni, or sugar syrup, is traditionally dabbed onto dried mehendi to help keep the paste moist while the stain develops. Many people follow the practice in the hope of achieving a deeper, darker colour.
Married to American singer Nick Jonas, Priyanka has often shared glimpses of how she continues to observe Indian traditions while living in the United States. She has also spoken through social media posts about introducing her daughter, Malti Marie, to Indian cultural and religious practices.
Earlier, the actor shared moments from the family’s Dussehra celebrations at their Los Angeles home. The festivities included puja, Shivling abhishek, havan and Kanya Pujan. Nick was seen washing Malti’s feet during the ritual, while the child wore an ivory outfit with a red scarf bearing the words “Jai Mata Di”.
Priyanka has also shared a video of herself teaching Malti a verse from the Durga Saptashati. In the clip, Malti attempted to repeat the Sanskrit prayer “Sarva Mangala Mangalye” as her mother guided her through the shloka.
