Actor Ahan Shetty is set to begin work on his next film, Sanki, with the action drama scheduled to go on floors in Bhopal on October 30, following his appearance in Border 2.
Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, known for films such as Rustom and Mission Raniganj, the project will blend high-octane action with romance and intense emotions. Writer Gyanendra Vasudev has penned the film, while the makers have kept its storyline under wraps, with further details expected to be revealed in the coming months.
Desai and his crew have already reached Bhopal to complete preparations ahead of the shoot.
The film’s title reportedly came after discussions involving producer Sajid Nadiadwala, who had earlier registered Sanki for a separate project. When Ahan expressed interest in using the title for his film, he is said to have approached Nadiadwala personally. The matter was reportedly resolved amicably, with Nadiadwala agreeing to let the team use the title as a gesture of goodwill towards Ahan and the Shetty family.
The project is backed by We The People, Roaring River Productions and Pals & Peers Entertainment. It is scheduled for a theatrical release in the first half of 2027.
Ahan made his Bollywood debut with Tadap and was most recently seen in Border 2, alongside Sunny Deol. The actor has previously spoken about the pressure of being compared with his father, Suniel Shetty, who featured in the original Border.
Ahan said he was particularly nervous about recreating a scene associated with his father’s performance in the earlier film. He also revealed that a final scene involving the two of them could not be filmed together, despite the special significance of their connection to the Border franchise.
