Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor has shared a glimpse of her 46th birthday celebrations, including a specially decorated cake, and thanked fans and well-wishers for their love and wishes.
Kareena, who turned 46 on September 21, posted a picture of a chocolate cake featuring 46 candles and a large golden “46” on top. The cake was tied with a red ribbon and carried the message, “Happy Birthday Amma!”
Alongside the picture, Kareena expressed gratitude for the messages she received and said she would continue to remain true to herself.
“Thank you, everyone. I have felt the love in each and every message you’ve sent my way… I’m forever grateful, and I will only and always continue to be myself… To make the best choices I can, with all your love and positivity by my side… Onwards and upwards, peeps! Love you all, always and forever,” she wrote.
Kareena received birthday wishes from several members of her family and close friends.
Her elder sister Karisma Kapoor shared a childhood photograph of the sisters and wrote, “Happy birthday to the best sister ever. Always side by side, always twinning and winning. Love you mostest.”
Kareena’s sisters-in-law Soha Ali Khan and Saba Pataudi also shared birthday posts. Saba looked back at her bond with Kareena and recalled meeting her and Saif Ali Khan during a film shoot. She also remembered being present when Kareena first met her father, late cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi.
Kareena’s close friend Amrita Arora shared a playful birthday poem for the actress, who responded by calling her a “poet bro”.
Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas also wished Kareena, sharing a picture of her in a saree and writing, “Happy Birthday Kareena. There will never be anyone like you.” The two actresses previously worked together in Aitraaz.
Born on September 21, 1980, in Mumbai, Kareena is the daughter of actors Randhir Kapoor and Babita and the younger sister of Karisma Kapoor. She made her acting debut with J.P. Dutta’s Refugee in 2000, opposite Abhishek Bachchan.
Her first commercial success came with Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai in 2001, while her portrayal of Poo in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham that same year established her as a household name.
Kareena has since built a diverse filmography with performances in Jab We Met, 3 Idiots, Talaash, Heroine, Udta Punjab, Veere Di Wedding, Good Newwz, Laal Singh Chaddha, The Buckingham Murders and Crew, among others.
Her latest release is Meghna Gulzar’s Daayra, which hit theatres on September 18. Kareena plays DCP Ajooni Kohli in the film, inspired by true incidents involving police encounters.
