Chandigarh, September 22, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs and leaders on Tuesday took the party’s ‘Mann De Munaffe’ campaign to households across Punjab, presenting what they described as a report card of the Bhagwant Mann government’s work and highlighting the financial benefits of its welfare schemes.

The campaign follows Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s launch of the party’s door-to-door outreach from Dhuri on Sunday. The AAP has positioned ‘Mann De Munaffe’ around the claim that government initiatives, including free electricity, healthcare, education and the Maavan-Dheeyan Satkar Yojana, provide an annual benefit of Rs 1.82 lakh to every family.

During Tuesday’s outreach, AAP representatives spoke to residents about schemes such as zero electricity bills, Aam Aadmi Clinics, government education initiatives and other programmes, explaining the savings the party says households are receiving through these measures.

MLA Lakhbir Singh Rai conducted outreach in village Nalina Khurd, while MLA Hakam Singh visited Raikot. Sujanpur constituency in-charge Swaran Salaria visited Gosaipur, while AAP volunteers led by constituency in-charge Rajwinder Kaur Thiara carried out a door-to-door campaign in Jalandhar Cantt.

Similar programmes were held in several other constituencies. MLA Daljit Grewal conducted outreach in Ludhiana East, MLA Vijay Singla in Mansa, MLA Dr Jasbir Singh Sandhu in Amritsar West and MLA Dimpy Dhillon in Gidderbaha.

In Rampura Phul, MLA Balkar Sidhu met residents and spoke about the government’s work over the past four years, particularly in electricity, healthcare and education.

MLA Manjit Singh Bilaspur conducted outreach in Nihal Singh Wala, MLA Dalbir Singh Tong in Baba Bakala, MLA Sarwan Singh Dhun in Khem Karan and MLA Manjinder Singh Lalpura in Khadoor Sahib.

Principal Budh Ram conducted outreach in village Guraddi in Budhlada, while MLA Kulwant Singh and MLA Jeevanjot Kaur led programmes in Mohali and Amritsar East respectively.

According to the party, residents welcomed the MLAs and party workers and spoke about the benefits they had received from government schemes.

The campaign is part of the AAP’s broader preparations for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections. Mann has said the party will take its record since 2022 directly to households and focus its campaign on the work carried out by his government.

At the launch in Dhuri, Mann said the government’s welfare measures were helping families save around Rs 15,000 a month, which he calculated at an annual benefit of Rs 1.82 lakh. The claim includes savings attributed to free electricity, healthcare, education and other essential services.

The campaign materials also contain sharp criticism of the Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal and BJP. Mann has urged voters to compare the AAP government’s record with those of previous governments, while making a series of claims about what he says could happen to welfare schemes if the opposition parties return to power.

According to the pamphlet circulated as part of the campaign, Mann claimed that free electricity, Aam Aadmi Clinics, financial assistance schemes, free treatment facilities, elderly pensions and pilgrimage programmes could be discontinued under an opposition government.

He also claimed that canal water supplied to Punjab’s agricultural fields could be diverted to Rajasthan and Haryana, and that daytime electricity supply for agriculture could be discontinued.

The pamphlet further claimed that government schools improved under the Mann government would be neglected and alleged that corruption in government recruitment would return under previous political parties. These are political claims made as part of the AAP’s election campaign.

Mann also made allegations concerning previous governments’ handling of drugs, infrastructure, healthcare, education and business sectors, accusing their leaders of having benefited from monopolies in areas including sand, liquor, cable and transport. These allegations form part of the AAP’s campaign narrative and were not independently established in the material provided.

The campaign material also contains an allegation concerning a reported BJP-SAD alliance, claiming that the parties had agreed on issues involving farm laws, Punjab’s water and control over Chandigarh and Panjab University. The material does not provide independent evidence or attribution for these claims.

The AAP has said its door-to-door campaign will take the government’s four-and-a-half-year report card to households across Punjab, with party workers and leaders explaining the schemes and initiatives implemented since 2022.
