Mumbai, September 22, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Bigg Boss 20 contestant Rhiti Tiwari, daughter of actor-politician Manoj Tiwari, has opened up about her childhood, relationship with her father and the expectations she faces as a celebrity’s daughter.

In a recent episode of the reality show, Rhiti spoke to fellow contestant Scout about the assumptions people make about star kids, saying her father’s name has brought her respect but not the wealth, opportunities or professional support that many associate with being a celebrity’s child.

Recalling her childhood, Rhiti said her father left home when she was very young and that they had limited communication. She also said her parents used to argue frequently and that she would meet her father only once a year.

Rhiti said that when she was around 18 or 19, she consciously decided to spend more time with her father and understand him better, although she felt some things had already been delayed.

Talking about the advantages she believes came from her father’s identity, Rhiti said she received his name and the respect associated with it, but not the financial wealth, fame or opportunities that people might expect.

She also said her father had made it clear that he would not assist her in building her career and wanted her to prove herself independently.

“He made it very clear to me that he won’t help me in my career,” Rhiti said, adding that his position was that if she had the ability, she should achieve success on her own.

Rhiti further spoke about the financial limitations she experiences. She said her father gives her a monthly allowance of around Rs 20,000-25,000 and does not necessarily provide money whenever she asks for it.

She recalled managing everyday expenses carefully, including sometimes eating a Rs 10 vada pav twice a day and spending only around Rs 500 on diesel, saying she uses money according to her immediate needs.

Addressing the perception that celebrity children grow up with unlimited privilege, Rhiti said people assume she was raised with a “very big silver spoon” because of her father’s status. She said her reality was different and described herself as an ordinary person for whom establishing a career has been difficult.
