India’s Suruchi Inder Singh and Kamaljeet produced a record-breaking performance to win gold in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event at the 2026 Asian Games, combining for an Asian record score of 484.6 in the final.
The Indian pair maintained their composure under pressure and delivered a consistent display of precision to finish at the top of the standings. Their score surpassed the previous Asian record of 481.3 set by Uzbekistan’s Mukhammad Kamalov and Nigina Saidkulova in February.
South Korea’s Hong Suhyeon and Choo Gaeun won silver with 478.0, while Iran’s Haniyeh Rostamiyan and Vahid Golkhandan took bronze with 415.8. Indonesia’s Darmoyo A. and Prabowo M. finished fourth with 349.4.
Suruchi and Kamaljeet stayed in contention throughout the final and held their nerve as the pressure intensified. Their accurate shooting enabled them to build and maintain the lead, ultimately keeping the Republic of Korea pair behind.
The gold added another significant medal to India’s shooting campaign in Nagoya and underlined the country’s strong showing in precision shooting.
The Indian duo had also impressed in qualification, where they set an Asian Games Qualification Record with a score of 587, including 29 inner 10s. The tally surpassed the previous Asian Games qualification record of 577 set by Indian pair Sarabjot Singh and Divya Subbaraju at Hangzhou 2023.
Their qualification score also equalled the Asian Record, matching the mark achieved by Saurabh Chaudhary and Manu Bhaker in 2021.
For Suruchi and Kamaljeet, the 484.6-point effort added an Asian record to their Asian Games gold, giving India another standout performance in the shooting competition.
