India’s Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Niraj Kumar and Rudrankksh Patil combined to win the silver medal in the men’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions team event at the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya on Friday.
The Indian trio recorded 1762-94x to finish second behind China, which won gold with 1766-95x. South Korea claimed bronze with 1751-87x.
The result also brought further success for India in the event, with Aishwary and Niraj qualifying for the individual final later in the day.
India began strongly in the kneeling position, accumulating 587 points across the two series. The shooters then produced 593 in the prone position to take their combined score to 1,180 after the first two stages.
They added 582 points in the standing series to finish with 1,762 points and 94 inner 10s, securing the silver medal.
In the individual qualification, Aishwary finished third with 589-34x, while Niraj was fourth with 588-34x. Rudrankksh finished ninth with 585-26x and missed out on the individual final.
The medal added to India’s shooting haul in Nagoya after Suruchi Phogat and Kamaljeet won gold in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event earlier on Friday.
Suruchi and Kamaljeet produced an Asian-record score of 484.6 in the final to claim the mixed-team title, finishing ahead of the Republic of Korea.
The rifle team’s silver therefore gave India another podium finish in shooting on a day that also saw two Indian shooters advance to an individual final.
