BJP president Nitin Nabin on Thursday held an interaction with mission heads and senior diplomats from eight countries at the party headquarters in New Delhi under the ongoing ‘KNOW BJP’ initiative.
Diplomatic representatives from Argentina, Armenia, Bhutan, Egypt, the Philippines, Suriname, Tajikistan and Vietnam participated in the meeting.
During the interaction, Nabin spoke about the BJP’s political journey, organisational structure and grassroots network, as well as the role of its ‘karyakartas’ (party workers) in maintaining engagement with people across the country.
He also highlighted the party’s ideological principles and its approach to governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, referring to areas including poverty alleviation, healthcare, infrastructure development, welfare delivery, financial and digital inclusion and entrepreneurship.
Nabin also spoke about the ongoing ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, which is being organised from September 17 to October 17. The month-long campaign was announced by the BJP to mark Prime Minister Modi completing 25 years in public service.
According to Nabin, the campaign focuses on public service, ‘Jan Bhagidari’ (public participation), ‘Antyodaya’ (last-mile delivery) and the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’. He outlined activities being organised under the campaign, including blood donation drives and health camps.
Discussing India’s international engagement, Nabin emphasised the need to strengthen relations with countries and regions across the world. He said India’s engagement was expanding beyond traditional government-to-government relations to include people-to-people contacts, businesses, students, diaspora communities, parliamentarians and political parties.
Several participants appreciated the ‘KNOW BJP’ initiative and shared their views on the platform, describing it as an opportunity to understand the BJP’s organisational structure and functioning.
The diplomats also conveyed their greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on assuming office for a third successive term.
The meeting was attended by BJP Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab Sandeep Pathak, BJP Lok Sabha MP from New Delhi Bansuri Swaraj and Vijay Chauthaiwale, in-charge of the BJP’s Foreign Affairs Department.
Pathak later described the interaction as a meaningful exchange of ideas, perspectives and experiences, reflecting what he termed the BJP’s commitment to global engagement, dialogue and mutual learning.
