Four people were killed and 11 others injured in a road accident in Rajasthan’s Rajsamand district on Thursday after a tractor-trolley carrying pilgrims and labourers overturned in the Railmagra area.
According to preliminary information, the tractor-trolley was travelling on the main road when its driver reportedly lost control near a bend. The vehicle overturned by the roadside, trapping several people underneath.
Nearby villagers rushed to the spot following the accident and joined rescue efforts. Personnel from the Railmagra police station and emergency ambulance services also reached the site and helped evacuate those trapped beneath the overturned trolley.
Four people died in the accident, while 11 injured persons were taken to a nearby health centre for treatment. Those with serious injuries were later referred to Rajsamand District Hospital after receiving first aid.
A team of doctors began treatment after the injured were brought to the hospital. Administrative officials also visited the facility and directed medical staff to ensure prompt medical care.
Police took custody of the bodies and shifted them to the mortuary. Post-mortem examinations are being conducted in the presence of family members.
Police are investigating the exact cause of the accident. Preliminary information indicates that the tractor-trolley went out of control near a bend and overturned.
