Actor Adivi Sesh has lent his voice to the issue of women’s safety in association with Hyderabad Police, stressing that equality must extend beyond policies and be reflected in everyday interactions.
Sesh said women’s safety should not become a concern only after an incident but should remain part of everyday conversations and behaviour.
“Women’s safety is not something that can be addressed only when an incident happens. It needs to be a part of our everyday conversations and the way we conduct ourselves. Each of us has a role to play in creating an environment where women feel respected, heard and safe,” he said.
The actor also called on men, particularly those with a public platform, to speak up against inappropriate behaviour and ensure that equality is reflected through their actions.
“As men, especially those with a public platform, we should be willing to speak up, challenge behaviour that is not right and make sure that equality is reflected in our actions, not just our words,” he added.
Sesh said men in positions of influence have an important role in helping create safer and more equal environments.
“A safe workplace and a safe society are spaces where everyone feels respected, valued and comfortable speaking up,” he said.
Expressing his support for the initiative, Sesh thanked Hyderabad Police for involving him in the campaign and providing an opportunity to contribute to the conversation around women’s safety.
Through his association with Hyderabad Police, the actor is using his public platform to encourage greater awareness and discussion around the issue.
Sesh was last seen in Dacoit, which also stars Mrunal Thakur, Prakash Raj, Sunil, Atul Kulkarni, Zayn Marie Khan and Kamakshi Bhaskarla, among others.
The film follows an angry convict who sets out to take revenge on his former girlfriend after she betrays him. As he devises a dangerous plan to trap her, the story develops into a tale of love, betrayal and vengeance.
Shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu, the film’s story and screenplay were jointly written by Sesh and Shaneil Deo.
