Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Baltej Pannu made a powerful statement, alleging that deliberate efforts are being made to derail the Punjab Government’s war against drugs, “Yudh Nashian Virudh”.
In his remarks, Pannu outlined the proactive measures taken by the Mann Government to combat the drug menace and expressed concern over recent developments that appear to be aimed at distracting attention from this critical fight.
“Punjab, which has long suffered due to the negligence and failures of previous governments, is now witnessing a professional and well-prepared campaign against drugs under the leadership of the Mann Government.
Every police station has been upgraded, whether in terms of vehicles, buildings, or internet facilities. This comprehensive strategy has resulted in a massive crackdown on drug suppliers over the last few days. The fear created among these criminals is being felt not just in Punjab but across the country,” Pannu asserted.
He further highlighted the suspicious timing of unrelated agitations, such as the collective leave of tehsildars and the announcement of new protests by certain groups, including some farmer organizations.
“These incidents suggest a deliberate attempt to overshadow the ongoing war against drugs. The widespread terror among drug suppliers created by the government’s campaign is being countered by manufacturing large-scale headlines around agitation and mass leave protests,” Pannu stated.
Pannu appealed to the people of Punjab to remain vigilant and not fall prey to such distractions.
“The Mann Government’s campaign against drugs is a historic initiative. Every village, individual, neighborhood, town, and city must come together to support this fight. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that these conspiracies do not succeed in derailing the war on drugs,” he said.
He emphasized that the Aam Aadmi Party is committed to eradicating the drug problem from Punjab and will not be deterred by any efforts to obstruct this mission. Pannu called on every Punjabi to play their part in this battle to secure a drug-free future for the state.
