Adobe on Thursday announced partnerships with seven state governments to provide free access to Adobe Express for Education to nearly 7.8 million students and teachers in government schools, expanding the company’s K-12 education reach in India.
The US-based software company has signed memorandums of understanding with Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Assam and Goa. The initiative will provide thousands of government schools with access to Adobe Express, a digital media platform designed to support creative learning and develop future-ready skills.
Adobe said students and teachers will also receive access to digital creativity and AI skill-building courses under its Adobe Digital Academy. The curriculum will focus on creative problem-solving, digital storytelling and AI-assisted content creation.
Teachers will be trained to integrate digital creativity into classroom teaching, while students will use Adobe Express for school projects and creative expression. Adobe Express for Education includes classroom-focused tools and safety features, including education-specific privacy controls and safe-search functionality.
“The partnership builds on Adobe’s longstanding commitment to education in India, and supports the government’s National Education Policy – which emphasises the use of digital tools and AI to help build creativity skills for future readiness,” said Mala Sharma, Global Vice President and General Manager, Education, Adobe.
The initiative will cover PM SHRI and CM SHRI schools, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and other government school networks, with plans to expand to additional schools and states.
Adobe has also partnered with NASSCOM FutureSkills Prime, a digital skilling initiative in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, to provide learners across India with complimentary access, industry-relevant courses and certificates.
