Actor Abhishek Bajaj has ventured into singing with his latest project, ‘Sherdil’, describing it as more than just a music video and an opportunity to bring a long-held creative vision to life.
Bajaj has been closely involved in every aspect of the project, from direction and casting to singing and collaborating with musicians.
Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Sherdil’, Abhishek said, “For me, Sherdil was never just about making a music video. It was about bringing a vision to life that had been in my mind for a long time. I’ve been approached by several music labels for music videos, but I never wanted to do something just for the sake of it.”
“I wanted to create something of my own, something that would offer audiences a different visual treat and experience,” he added.
The idea for ‘Sherdil’ took shape after Abhishek met producer Prateek Sharma, Parth Shah and Chakir Hussain, who expressed interest in creating a music video. Following an intensive development process, the project eventually came to fruition.
The creative vision was to deliver an action-musical experience blending poetry, action and romance in a format rarely explored in Indian music videos. The title reflects the central conflict of its protagonist, who embodies both the fearlessness of a warrior and the emotions of a passionate lover.
The producers explained the significance of the title, saying, “The title Sherdil felt right because it captures the entire essence of the story in a single word. ‘Sher’ means lion, and ‘dil’ means heart. Together, they represent a man who has the courage and ferocity of a lion but is also driven by the emotions of his heart.”
Featuring Abhishek Bajaj and Payal Rajput, ‘Sherdil’ has been sung by Abhishek alongside Hashmat Sultana Khan, with music composed by Vivek Kar.
The project is produced by Prateek Sharma, Parth Shah and Chakir Hussain under the LSD music label. ‘Sherdil’ was released on Monday.
