Chandigarh, October 8, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a Home Guard identified as Anish for allegedly accepting a Rs 4,000 bribe in exchange for getting a complainant’s duty/posting shifted from Palwal to Nuh.

According to the ACB, Anish had allegedly demanded Rs 7,000 from the complainant for arranging the posting change. He had already received Rs 3,000 and was arrested while accepting the remaining Rs 4,000 during a trap operation.

The complainant had alleged that Anish was demanding the bribe to have his duty assigned in Nuh instead of Palwal. He allegedly threatened that unless the money was paid, the complainant would continue to be posted in Palwal.

Following verification of the complaint, a team of the ACB, Hisar Range, operating through its Bhiwani sub-centre, conducted the trap in accordance with the prescribed procedure. Anish was caught red-handed while accepting the remaining bribe amount.

During the investigation, evidence allegedly indicated the involvement of Nuh Centre Commander Vikram. He was subsequently arrested in connection with the case.

The trap operation was conducted in the presence of an independent witness and a gazetted officer. The operation was led by Inspector Jagjit Singh of the ACB, Bhiwani unit. Rahul Chhillar, XEN, Irrigation Department, Bhiwani, was present as the independent witness/gazetted officer.

The ACB said the prescribed procedure under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, was followed during the operation.

A case has been registered against Anish and Vikram under FIR No. 43 dated October 8, 2026, at the Police Station of the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Gurugram. The charges include Section 308(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 7 and 13(1)(b), read with Section 13(2), of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

The ACB said its action against corruption would continue and appealed to the public to report demands for bribes by government officials or employees. Complaints can be made through toll-free helpline 1064, control room number 1800-180-2022, WhatsApp number 94178-91064, or the ‘Satark-Haryana’ mobile app.
