Actress Mugdha Godse has opened up about her initial hesitation over taking up Sanskaar, saying she was initially “a bit skeptical” because the project required her to explore something she had never done before.
Godse said it was the show’s storyline that eventually convinced her to step outside her comfort zone and experiment with a different kind of role. She also described the opportunity to work with veteran filmmaker K.C. Bokadia as an added reason for taking up the project.
“When I got a call for Sanskaar I was a bit skeptical initially because I had never done something like this before. But what excited me and kept me intrigued was the storyline. I wanted to experiment and challenge myself as an actor; also, it is a fortune to work with the legendary KC Bokadia sir,” Godse told IANS.
The actress said her apprehension disappeared once filming began and she felt happy about her decision to join the project.
Godse also expressed excitement about the show being telecast on DD National and made available on its digital platform, Waves OTT. She recalled growing up watching Doordarshan and said being part of the channel’s evolving profile was particularly meaningful.
Calling Sanskaar a show for everyone, Godse said the project focuses on the importance of family and the values that hold relationships together.
The family drama explores different shades of life through its highs and lows, while highlighting the warmth and significance of having loved ones around.
For the project, Godse has adopted a more understated, de-glamourised appearance. She plays a simple and easy-going housewife who represents the traditional image of an ideal woman in Indian society.
