The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Bhatia as its new Rajasthan in-charge, with Kavita Patidar and Kuljeet Chahal named as co-in-charges as part of a major organisational reshuffle.
The appointments, announced by BJP national president Nitin Nabin, cover 28 states and eight Union Territories and take effect immediately.
Bhatia will oversee the BJP’s organisational affairs in Rajasthan, while Patidar and Chahal will assist him in coordinating the party’s activities in the state. The reshuffle comes after the completion of Rajasthan’s urban local body elections and as the BJP prepares for the upcoming Panchayati Raj elections.
The new Rajasthan team will be responsible for coordinating with the state BJP leadership and overseeing organisational preparations at the grassroots level as the party moves into the next phase of political activity.
Bhatia, a senior BJP leader from Haryana, replaces Uttar Pradesh MP Radha Mohan Das Agrawal as the party’s Rajasthan in-charge. Patidar, a Rajya Sabha member from Madhya Pradesh, has been assigned the co-in-charge role alongside Delhi BJP leader Kuljeet Chahal.
The Rajasthan appointments are part of a wider restructuring of the BJP’s organisational machinery across the country.
Among the other key changes, Baijayant Jay Panda has been appointed Maharashtra in-charge, while Vinod Tawde has been given charge of Uttar Pradesh. Smriti Irani will oversee Haryana and Chhattisgarh, and Ram Madhav has been assigned Tamil Nadu and Uttarakhand. Satish Poonia has been appointed in-charge of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.
