Mohali Kings secured their place in the semi-finals of the Sher-E-Punjab T20 League with a five-wicket victory over Bathinda Royals at the I.S. Bindra Stadium on Wednesday.
Batting first, Bathinda Royals recovered from an early collapse to post 184/6 in their 20 overs. The Royals slipped to 17/2 before Harnoor Singh and Gourav Choudhary steadied the innings with a 74-run partnership for the third wicket.
Harnoor scored 43 off 36 balls before being dismissed, while Gourav contributed 35 off 22 deliveries. Their departures left Bathinda at 93/4, but Ridham Satyawan’s 31 off 19 balls and an unbeaten 38 off 23 from Shahbaz Sandhu helped the Royals finish strongly.
Ayush Goyal was Mohali Kings’ most successful bowler, claiming 2/27 from his four overs.
Chasing 185, Mohali were immediately under pressure after being reduced to 4/2. Anmolpreet Singh and Ramandeep Singh then rebuilt the innings with a 52-run partnership for the third wicket.
Anmolpreet struck 49 off 28 balls before falling just short of his half-century, while Mohali lost a few more wickets at regular intervals to keep Bathinda in contention.
Ramandeep, however, produced a match-winning knock, smashing an unbeaten 71 off 36 balls. He received excellent support from Sohraab Dhaliwal, who remained unbeaten on 40 off 20 deliveries.
The pair guided Mohali Kings through the remainder of the chase without further damage, completing the five-wicket victory and sealing their semi-final berth.
