Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas has issued an imposter alert after learning that an unidentified person was allegedly using his name and identity to send emails to multiple people.
The actor took to Instagram Stories to warn the public about the fraudulent communication and shared the email address being used by the impersonator.
“Please be informed that someone is impersonating me and falsely using my identity to send emails to multiple people,” Thomas wrote, clarifying that the email address was not associated with him and that he had not authorised anyone to communicate on his behalf through it.
He urged recipients not to respond to messages from the address, share personal information, click on links, make payments or comply with any requests received through it.
“If you receive an email from this address, please report it as spam/phishing and delete it immediately,” he said.
Thomas also asked people to share the warning with anyone who may have received the fraudulent emails and advised them to verify the source of any communication claiming to be from him.
On the professional front, Thomas is set to reunite with acclaimed Malayalam filmmaker Johnpaul George for a new project. Industry sources have described the upcoming film as the biggest-budget project of both their careers. Actor Chethan Jayalal is also expected to be part of the project.
The announcement came as their critically acclaimed film ‘Guppy’ marked 10 years since its release, prompting excitement among fans on social media.
‘Guppy’ was a significant film in Thomas’ career, with the actor playing engineer Thejas Varkey. The film also marked George’s directorial debut and helped establish him as a filmmaker.
On the film’s 10th anniversary, George shared a note of gratitude in Malayalam, reflecting on the enduring significance of ‘Guppy’ and expressing his appreciation for the film completing a decade.
