Punjab Police on Thursday conducted 608 raids at identified locations linked to gangster associates as part of the ongoing ‘Gangstran Te Vaar’ campaign, which entered its 219th day.
According to the Punjab Police, 397 individuals were arrested during the statewide operation and four weapons were recovered. The latest action has taken the total number of arrests made since the launch of the campaign to 65,327.
Police teams also took preventive action against 216 individuals and arrested six proclaimed offenders during Thursday’s operation.
The ‘Gangstran Te Vaar’ campaign was launched by Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav on January 20, 2026, with the stated objective of making Punjab a gangster-free state.
As part of the campaign, police teams across all districts have been carrying out coordinated operations in collaboration with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab. Locations associated with gangsters and their associates are identified and mapped before targeted raids are conducted.
The police have also urged members of the public to share information about wanted criminals, gangsters, crime and criminal activities through the Anti-Gangster Helpline.
