Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Thursday extended warm greetings to Punjabis across the world on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
In his message, Sandhwan said the festival symbolises the enduring bond of love, trust and affection between brothers and sisters and reflects the deep-rooted cultural and historical traditions associated with the occasion.
He called upon brothers to uphold the true spirit of Raksha Bandhan by pledging to provide lifelong care, support and protection to their sisters. He said the festival should also reinforce the values of mutual respect, dignity and safety within families and society.
