Celebrity chef and actor Ranveer Brar, who is receiving a positive response to his quiz show ‘Yess Chef’, has opened up about dealing with life’s challenges, saying the key is to face difficult situations and keep moving forward.
Speaking to IANS in Mumbai’s Andheri West during the promotions of his new streaming show, Brar said life would inevitably throw unexpected challenges at everyone, and the important thing was to find the courage to begin again.
“It’s not like life won’t throw curveballs at you. It’s not like it won’t come at all. To wake up in the morning and say, ‘It’s okay, it was yesterday, let’s start again today’, that’s the only difference,” he said.
Brar added that believing one’s struggles were unique or that such difficulties happened only to oneself was an unhelpful approach, as everyone faces challenges at some point.
He emphasised that the ability to recover after difficult experiences mattered more than the challenges themselves.
“How bravely you wake up the next morning, or how bravely you take a shower at night, that’s the only difference. I think if you cry to bed every night, then wake up happy every morning. That is all that matters,” he said.
Sharing his favourite quote on courage, Brar said, “My favourite quote is that courage is not the absence of fear, it is the ability to act in the presence of fear.”
He said moving forward depended on taking action despite the difficulties one might be facing.
“What’s happening to you, it’s happening to everyone. The one who took the action, moves forward, that’s it. That’s what I think. I myself struggle but the key is to never stop,” he added.
Earlier, Brar had shared advice on ensuring food safety at home, stressing the importance of buying fresh produce from local markets.
He told IANS that shopping at local vegetable markets was an important way to assess freshness, adding that the growing popularity of quick-commerce delivery apps had changed people’s shopping habits.
“I believe that first of all, do your own shopping from local markets. That is very important if we talk about freshness. All of us have stopped going to the vegetable market. The 10-minute apps have changed the culture of shopping from vegetable markets,” he said.
Brar added that seeing fresh vegetables displayed at a market helped people appreciate the value of fresh food.
“When you see fresh vegetables on the whole cart, you understand the value of fresh food. Even if you get a small packet of cabbage, you don’t enjoy it,” he said.
